Berekum West District Celebrates 41st National Farmers Day at Koraso

The Berekum West District Assembly on Friday, December 5, 2025, held its 41st National Farmers Day Celebration at Koraso under the national theme: “Eat Ghana, Feed Ghana, Secure the Future.”

The colorful event was graced by the Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Hon. Dickson Kyere-Duah (Stugard), and the District Chief Executive, Hon. Collins Asoma (Colley), alongside a host of dignitaries including the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Charles Yaw Asomoah, the District Agric Director, Mr. Danso, Heads of Departments, traditional leaders, farmers, media personnel, and the good people of the district.

The celebration provided a platform to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of farmers toward food security and national development. In his remarks, Hon. Kyere-Duah commended farmers for their resilience and dedication, noting that their efforts remain the backbone of the district’s economy. Hon. Asoma also emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to supporting agricultural initiatives that align with the “Eat Ghana, Feed Ghana, Secure the Future” agenda.

The highlight of the program was the honoring of 21 hardworking farmers who distinguished themselves in various aspects of agriculture. They received awards and recognition for their outstanding contributions to farming and community development.

Traditional leaders and community members expressed gratitude to the Assembly and government for sustaining the annual celebration, which continues to inspire farmers and strengthen the agricultural sector.

The event reaffirmed the district’s commitment to promoting agriculture as a driver of growth, employment, and sustainable development.
